Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper is one of the most recognized paintings in history. It is a Renaissance piece that has been admired and copied for over 500 years. Inspired by the original mural, a set of porcelain figurines arranged in the Last Supper motif will be featured in the upcoming Fine & Decorative Art auction. Presented by Broward Auction Gallery, this sale of 430 lots will include Asian art, antiques, decorative art, toys, and furniture.

One of Margaret Dovaston’s oil paintings is also highlighted in this sale. While Dovaston’s works were mostly imaginative, her art often captured the historical culture and atmosphere surrounding her subjects. The available work depicts a fireplace scene with three men gathered around the hearth. To the side, a young man plays the piano for an admiring woman. Also offered is an oil painting from Anton Otto Fischer depicting a sailing ship. After moving to the United States from Germany in 1897, Fischer began focusing his attention on nautical scenes.
