Brunk Auctions to Feature Elizabeth O’Neill Verner Watercolor Drawing

Artist Elizabeth O’Neill Verner was a leader and pioneer of the Charleston Renaissance.  She was a representational painter, and her works are notable for documenting the changing socio-political landscape of the American South. Brunk Auctions’ upcoming sale will feature several prints by the artist. One of the highlights is a watercolor and graphite work titled Rustic Madonna, Taxco. This piece depicts a mother cradling a child on her lap.

Wilhelm Frerichs, a 19^th-century Belgian artist, is also represented in the sale. Frerichs found his muse in the rolling mountains and swiftly flowing rivers of North Carolina. He created expansive canvases that incorporated the aesthetics of his favorite waterfalls. Available in this sale is an untitled oil painting by Wilhelm Frerichs. Beyond fine art, the auction also highlights a Charleston mahogany dressing table in excellent condition.
