Bright Summer Prints Make a Splash at Bonhams’ Prints & Multiples Auction

Bonhams’ Prints & Multiples Summer Splash auction will showcase works by Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Salvador Dalí, Virgil Abloh, and others. Particularly notable is Guild Hall East Hampton, a 1980 vintage screenprint created with the trademark style of Pop artist Roy Lichtenstein, who was fond of using primary colors and flat commercial presses. The piece depicts two yellow colored hills spread against a big white cloud and blue lined sky. 

Salvador Dalí’s Végetation inédit: Ananas is another top lot. It is a color photolithograph of a yellow pineapple executed in 1967. The colorful pineapple has an eye, reflecting Dalí’s fascination with dream-like creatures. Also available is Reaper II, a lithograph on transparent plastic, signed in black marker by Virgil Abloh in 2019. Abloh was a trailblazing fashion designer, architect, and artist who was often compared to the likes of Andy Warhol and Jeff Koons. View more lots and register to bid online on Bonhams.
