1965 Ernie Barnes Painting of Willie Mays, Andrew Jackson Signed Document Available at SCP Auctions, Inc

Leading this auction is an original oil on canvas painting of Willie Mays by Ernie Barnes. This Ernie Barnes piece portrays Willie Mays watching a home run sail into the night sky while wearing his San Francisco Giants Road uniform. The imposing presence of Mays and his follow-through are rendered in Barnes’ signature style. Mays’ 1965 MVP season was the perfect topic for Barnes to paint as a former professional athlete. As part of Jackson’s first term, he signed this document appointing the Port of Cincinnati Surveyor. There is a PSA/DNA letter of authenticity accompanying the framed document. Also available is an appointment document signed by President James Buchanan in 1858.
