Contemporary Art by Andy Warhol, Marc Chagall, and David Gerstein Available at Robinhood Auctions

Assorted works of fine art, including paintings, prints, and sculptures, will be available in Robinhood Auctions’ December Contemporary Horizons sale. Among the top lots is Golden Marilyn 11.38, a limited edition silkscreen print by American artist Andy Warhol. Aside from mere artistic innovation, Warhol's work provides a critical perspective on celebrity and materialism in contemporary society. After Marilyn Monroe's death, Warhol created a series of photographs reflecting society's tendency to reduce individuals to commodities. The offered piece is stamped on the back and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. Another key fine art lot in the catalog is a color lithograph by Russian-French artist Marc Chagall. The Circus (Le Cirque), from the Cirque series by Chagall, was published in 1967 and includes 15 black-and-white and 23 color lithographs. Chagall strived to construct a fantasy world with no limits in his work. With his distinctive illustrative style and spontaneity, Chagall captured the drama and action of the circus in his artwork. This piece bears Marc Chagall's pencil signature on the bottom along with the edition number. A selection of important sculptures is available in this auction, including a free-standing work by David Gerstein, titled Stylish Bird. Gerstein, internationally recognized for his paintings, serigraphs, and steel sculptures, captured the life of a bird here with an animated, lifelike model. The body is blue, while green, violet, yellow, and red make up the tail and wings. Bidders can also consider Nastya Rovenskaya’s mixed media work titled Making Dough and a lithograph titled Roseville Profile from Peter Max. Pop Art Variations: Modern Meets Contemporary With Robinhood Auctions

The latest sale from Robinhood Auctions offers over 1,000 lots of original paintings, prints, multiples, and more. The catalog boasts a robust selection of Pop Art, with examples from Modern masters such as Andy Warhol and Peter Max alongside contemporary reinventions from Patricia Govezensky and Mr. Brainwash.  Here are some of the top Modern and contemporary Pop Art pieces that will be available on November 21, 2024.  Andy Warhol, Classic Marilyn Portfolio, suite of ten silkscreen prints from Sunday B. Morning. Image courtesy of Robinhood Auctions.  Andy Warhol Several lots from Pop Art master Andy Warhol will cross the auction block in this sale, including a suite of ten Marilyn Monroe screenprints (lot #787; estimate: USD 6,684 - $8,355). The prints were published by Sunday B. Morning and are accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.  Warhol’s collaboration with Belgian company Sunday B. Morning started pleasantly. In 1970, he sent the anonymous printmakers behind Sunday B. Morning photo negatives and specific printing instructions to mass produce Warhol’s images of Marilyn Monroe, flowers, and Campbell’s Soup cans. Yet the relationship soon soured. Warhol eventually looked down upon the company’s output, viewing it as unironically inauthentic. Sunday B. Morning prints are recognizable for a blue stamp on verso that reads “fill in your own signature,” a cheeky invitation to take ownership of a mass-produced product.  Peter Max, Liberty & Justice, mixed media artwork. Bold Statement Earrings from Bulgari and De Grisogono Lead Robinhood Auctions’ Upcoming Sale

The origins of earrings for pierced ears trace back thousands of years; however, clip-ons were invented only in the Victorian era. In European countries, when women adorned elaborate wigs and attires that concealed their ears, the need for earrings was negligible. The 19th century marked a change in fashion with pulled-back tresses and relaxed collar styles becoming popular. Although earrings began to reemerge, the Victorians remained reserved since they considered piercing to be improper. In the early 20th century, the introduction of clip-ons enabled anyone to wear earrings without the necessity for piercing. The upcoming sale by Robinhood Auctions will feature a pair of Bulgari clip-on earrings designed with round-cut diamonds weighing 7.0 carats. Each earring features a floral setting, measuring 1.25 inches long and 1.15 inches wide. The statement pieces are crafted in 18-karat yellow gold and platinum and come in a gift box.  Another noteworthy lot is a bright and bold pair of De Grisogono earrings. They are designed with pink sapphires totaling 15.20 carats and diamonds weighing 1.94 carats. The Swiss luxury jewelry house was established in Geneva in 1993 by Fawaz Gruosi, a Lebanese-Italian black diamond specialist.
