Royal Doulton Presentation Jug, Regency Coach.:
This Royal Doulton presentation jug features a detailed relief scene depicting the Regency Coach, a historic London to Brighton route. The jug illustrates a vivid countryside landscape with figures including a coach driver, passengers, tavern scene, and pedestrians, all in period attire. Embossed signage on the upper rim reads “Ye Bel” and “Regency Coach London & Brighton,” enhancing the narrative of the piece. The jug is finished in high-gloss glaze with deep, vibrant coloration and fine surface crackling characteristic of age and craftsmanship. The base is marked with the Royal Doulton lion and crown stamp, the Royal Doulton England circular mark, and a descriptive panel explaining the Regency Coach story. It also confirms the limited edition nature of the piece, noting that the production was restricted to only 500 jugs. This specific example is hand-numbered as Jug No. 4.
