Romero Britto (Brazilian, b. 1963) Original Frida Kahlo, Signed

Romero Britto (Brazilian, b. 1963) Original Frida Kahlo, Signed:

Outstanding acrylic and ink painting on board by Neo-Pop artist Romero Britto. This large portrait is a homage to Mexican Surrealist painter Frida Kahlo who is depicted in Britto’s style of using vivid colors and geometric patterns delineated by precise black borders. Britto used vibrant primary colors that highlight Kahlo’s face, neck and flowers that contrast with her brown braids and bead necklace. Britto plays with visual illusion with diagonal and vertical lines that interplay with the shapes and colors he painted Kahlo. Britto completed this brilliant portrait with silver ink graffiti doodles applied on bright flat yellow color. Signature in silver ink on lower right: Romero Britto. Housed in a black frame with a dark brown linen mat. Artwork dimensions: 31″W x 39″H. Frame size: 46.25″W x 54.25″H x 1.25″D.
