Reed and Barton The Jockey Club Gold Cup 14K yellow gold lidded trophy with two handles and in the Neoclassical Revival manner, awarded to Prove Out of Hobeau Farms, Owner Jack Dreyfus (American, 1913-2009), Jockey Jorge Velasquez (American, born Panama, b. 1946), Trainer H. Allen Jerkens (American, 1929-2015) for the Aqueduct Racetrack 1973 race, the urn struck “REED & BARTON / 14 KT” to underside. Small ding to inner rim of lid, together with Jack Dreyfus ephemera including a signed copy of his book “The Lion of Wall Street”. Weight: approx. 62.5 ozt. (1250 dwt.); 17″ H x 11.5″ W x 7″ D.
