Charles Towne (English, 1763-1840), oil on canvas, depicting an equestrian portrait of horse standing next to house, signed lower right: “Charles Towne Pinx,” bearing artist’s plaque with dates affixed to bottom of frame. Image: 30.75″ H x 37.75″ W; frame: 36.5″ H x 43.75″ W x 2″ D. Provenance: From the estate of American film producer Martin Bregman (Scarface, Serpico, Dog Day Afternoon). Removed from his Park Avenue apartment decorated by Sister Parish and Albert Hadley.
