Keystone Auctions LLC will offer items ranging from fine art to military books in the upcoming Unique Antiques from Civil War General George Meade Estate and More auction. Among the highlighted lots is a painting of four finches from 1990, created by Hunt Slonem. Best known for his Neo-Expressionist oil paintings of tropical birds, Slonem often depicts multiples of the same subject. He has stated, “I was influenced by Warhol’s repetition of soup cans and Marilyn. But I'm more interested in doing it in the sense of prayer, with repetition... It's really a form of worship." Also highlighted is a mid-century sideboard designed by Milo Baughman. Considered a pioneer of modern design, Baughman collaborated with Thayer Coggin to produce Mid-Century Modern furniture. The available lot comes from that collaboration and features three doors. A vintage Gerard Perregaux Sea Hawk wristwatch will be offered as well.
