Navajo Zuni & Hopi Native American Indian Jewelry | Gold & Silver Estate

Tommy Singer was a celebrated Navajo silversmith known for his chip-inlay silver jewelry. Growing up in the Dilcon community on a Navajo reservation, Singer started making silver jewelry at the age of seven. After mastering his craft in the 1960s, Singer invented the chip-inlay method of jewelry design. This technique places small coral chips and turquoise crystals in silver. The upcoming auction, presented by Billy The Kid Auction House, highlights a vintage deep stamp concho belt by Singer. This turquoise-set sterling silver belt was inspired by traditional Navajo life. Showcased in this event is a David Yurman 18-karat gold, citrine, and diamond ring. The piece holds hand-selected gemstones from the jeweler’s vault. Also available in the sale is a wide cuff ‘Story Teller’ bracelet by the Realist painter and Navajo silversmith Robert Becenti. The auction will offer Native American jewelry from the Zuni and Hopi tribes by Bobby Johnson, Victor Moses Begay, and Larry Pinto.
