· Prints and bronzes continue to lure collectors
Moran’s REdesigned auction is the place to find quality furnishings, décor, and tableware to refurbish and refresh the home. From antique to contemporary, Continental to American Indian, REdesigned can outfit the most elegant villas or coziest cabins. Sale Director Roland Rynkiewicz notes “collectors are turning to auctions more and more to replenish or refresh their homes. They know they can find plenty of unique, quality pieces and they don’t have to pay retail prices.” At over 500 lots, REdesigned is sure to appeal to collectors of all stripes just in time to kick off the holiday entertaining and gift-giving season.
For those with a palace to fill, REdesigned is brimming with fine art and furnishings from the world’s most respected artists. Sunset in Feodosia from Crimean artist Ivan Konstantinovich Aivazovsky beautifully captures the luscious pinks and yellows of the titular sunset over water. The oil on canvas is projected to bring $60,000-80,000 at the block. A luxurious Persian Ghon area rug woven with silk would make a grand addition to any room and is projected to bring between $7,000-9,000. Examples of the Cardeillhac/Christofle “Renaissance” flatware rarely come up for auction. One lot of seven dinner forks is estimated to bring $1,800-2,200 at the block. A statement-making French Provincial buffet a deux corps from the first half of the 18th century is sure to appeal to collectors at its $3,000-5,000 estimate.
For those looking to update their traditional Colonial-style home, Moran’s has plenty to offer at all price points. A delightful portrait of “Skye,” the terrier from artist Sir Edwin Henry Landseer would be the perfect accompaniment to dog-lover’s abode and comes to the block with a $10,000-15,000 estimate. A beautifully made 18th century American tiger maple chest on stand is estimated to bring between $2,000-3,000 at the block. A group of Lalique “Ange” champagne flutes in their original box would make a sweet addition to any holiday celebration and are sure to sell between $400-600. A William Alexander Coulter painting of a ship at sail on choppy seas is sure to inspire collectors when it hits the block with a $4,000-6,000 estimate.
Moran’s has plenty of tempting options for cozy cabins waiting for collectors. Marjorie Reed’s “Mission San Luis Rey” is a beautiful piece from the artist and is expected to bring $1,000-2,000 at the auction. A Crow warrior on horseback in a winter landscape from Utah-based artist Michael Coleman is a wonderfully-printed lithograph and heads to the block with an $800-1,200 estimate. A pair of oak Arts & Crafts billiards chairs are waiting to go to the perfect game room and head to the block with a $1,000-1,500 estimate. A delightful three-tile topped table depicting a troubadour is sure to appeal to collectors and is estimated to bring $800-1,200.
