Original oil on linen glued to board by Orientalist Russian painter Wladimir Petroff who immigrated to Turkey after the victory of the Bolsheviks. Petroff depicts an interior view of the Sultan Ahmed Mosque (The Blue Mosque) renowned for its perfect symmetry and richly decorated tiles. Signature and date on lower left side: W. Petroff. Housed in a gilded wood frame with an off-white mat. Artwork dimensions: 8″L x 12.50″H. Frame size: 12.75″L x 17.50″H x 0.75″W.
