(Japanese, 1797-1858)twenty prints from an untitled series of large fish, most signed “Hiroshige ga/hitsu” with Ichiryusai seal, one with Yamasho publisher’s seal, one with Eijudo publisher’s seal, each with an associated poem in Japanese calligraphic script, woodblock prints on paper, late 19th/early 20th century reprints with extensive use of mica, oban yoko-e, each approximately 9-3/4 x 14-5/8 in.; mounted to red mats, 13-1/2 x 18-1/2 in.Note: This series of prints is sometimes referred to as Uozukushi (Every Variety of Fish). It is comprised of two series, the first containing 11 prints originally published by Nishimuraya Yohachi (Eijudo) from 1832-1834, and the second containing 9 originally published by Yamadaya Shojiro (Yamasho) from 1840-1842. – Provenance: Lifetime Collection of a Kentucky Lady

all hinged in on mats, impressions good overall with some scattered flaws, good color, some sheets with light toning and edge wear, all with center fold lines; one with loss to top right corner of sheet; mats with minor wear
