Stoneware figurine by Royal Doulton Lambeth depicting the character Sairey Gamp from Charles Dickens’ “Martin Chuzzlewit.” The figure is modeled with a bonnet, shawl, and dress, clutching her iconic umbrella and bundle. The character’s name, “SAIREY GAMP,” is incised in block letters on the front of the base. Crafted from buff slip-cast stoneware with a salt-glazed finish, this piece was modeled by renowned designer Leslie Harradine. The base is impressed with the Royal Doulton Lambeth circular mark and bears the artist’s monogram.
