Royal Doulton Henry V. Of Agincourt Hn3927:
Henry V at Agincourt HN3947 has vibrant bright colors, deep blue and red, the piece was designed by Alan Maslankowski and released in 1997 as part of Royal Doulton’s Prestige line. Henry V at Agincourt in Bone China. Alan Maslankowski has chosen King Henry V of England as the subject of this extraordinary Prestige piece. Though his troops were low on supplies and heavily out-numbered by the French, (some say 10-1), Henry V was able to win the Battle of Agincourt by arming thousands of them with longbows. This seminal win in the 100 Years’ War enabled Henry V to marry the French princess and sire a new King of France. King Henry’s amazing victory at Agincourt has been celebrated in William Shakespeares play, Henry V. Swathed in England’s coat of arms, the King and his horse valiantly ride through the grassy terrain of the battlefield. The famous speech from Shakespeare’s play has been artfully inscribed around the base of the figure, made to resemble the pages of an illuminated manuscript from the middle ages.
