Outstanding oil on canvas by pioneer Abstract Expressionist artist Olga Albizu, the first woman in Puerto Rico to paint Non-Representational art. A student of German painter Hans Hofmann, she unites bold and primary colors to achieve a push and pull visual effect to ignite an emotive response in the viewer. On a cobalt background, Albizu applied splendid fields of azure, sapphire, and cyan with deep purple, scarlet red, warm yellow and black that appear to float on the canvas. Signature on lower right: Albizu. Housed in imposing dark and caramel color recessed wooden frame with an ecru linen mat. Artwork dimensions: 20″L x 24″H. Frame size: 28.50″L x 32.50″H x 2″W.
