Monumental Probably Limoges 19th Cent Religious Enamel:
A probably Limoges 19th Century enamel painted plaque with religious depiction of the sixth scene of the 14 stations of the cross. Composed of a heavy iron foundation with hand painted crucifixion scene of Veronica Wiping the Face of Jesus in grisaille tones. Finished with gilt painted script “Jesus Impria SA Saint Face VI” mounted in an elaborate gilt wood frame with cross finial.
