Loie Fuller Art Nouveau Original Artworks:

Exceptional lot of two Art Nouveau artworks of Loie Fuller. It includes an outstanding oil on thick board and a superb color engraving. The oil painting depicts famed American dancer Loie Fuller on a Parisian stage where she is in the midst of performing her world famous Serpentine dance. Two evanescent female dancers perform alongside and the spotlights that Fuller designed specifically for the stage are highlighting them. The color etching of the same scene is made with sharper lines that clearly detail their partially nude bodies and expressions, the fluidity of their long hair, and the folds of the flowing dresses. The painting is on board and measures 15.25″L x 12.60″H x 2″W. The color engraving is housed in a glassless gilded frame. Edition in pencil on the lower left: E/A (Epreuve d’Artiste.) Signature on the lower right: illegible. Etching dimensions: 10.50″L x 8.50″H. Frame size: 20.25″L x 17.50″H x 1″W.
