George II Inlaid Walnut Longcase Clock
The dial with female mask spandrels, signed John Ellicott, London, matted centre with seconds dial and date aperture, strike/silent dial in the arch, five-pillar two-train movement with anchor escapment, the case with later concave-sided cresting above an arched cornice with panels of foliate fretwork, hood pillars over an arched trunk door and conforming panelled plinth. Height without later top 91 1/2 inches (232.5 cm), width 21 inches (53.3 cm), depth 10 1/2 inches (26.7 cm), total height 98 1/2 inches. (250.3 cm).
