This new to the census example is one of only three $50 Gold Star Notes to be graded higher than AU 58 by both services combined. The finest of the trio is a PCGS graded Gem Uncirculated 65PPQ example which we sold in 2014 for over $176,000, and the lowest of the trio of a PCGS Choice 63 example lacking the PPQ modifier, which has never reached the marketplace. This fully original and beautifully bright specimen fits right into the middle as the second finest known, and, coincidentally, displays the consecutive serial number to the PCGS Gem 65.
