Carved, Turned, and Joined Oak Sunflower Chest over Two Drawers, Peter Blinn, Wethersfield, Connecticut, c. 1670-1700, the pine top opens on snipe hinges above a well with oak till, the joined case with upper register of three carved panels divided by applied ebonized split balusters, the central octagonal molded panel with three carved sunflower blossoms, above two similarly paneled side-hung drawers divided by applied ebonized moldings and embellished with smaller applied split balusters and oval bosses, the case with paneled and ebonized sides, all on stile feet, ht. 41 1/4, wd. 48 1/2, dp. 20 1/2 in.
