An extremely rare Porcelain button from Hungary

Starting: $300

An extremely rare Porcelain button from Hungary:

1 Large early 20th C. realistic shaped Herend porcelain button. This is perhaps the rarest button in this auction and actually one of the rarest buttons that exists. The Herend porcelain company in Hungary does not even have records showing that they ever made buttons, and we have been told that the ones like this probably were simply a prototype. Many years ago Bruce received a rare Herend button of a hand with nail polish and a bow. It came to him in a collection and at that time even the best experts had never even seen a Herend button. Herend porcelains have been produced since 1826 in Hungary. This button and the one Bruce owns is not only backmarked with Herend’s blue mark but they also have an impressed backmark signifying the Herend company. This colorful rooster head is possibly the only one of its kind just like Bruce’s hand example from what we are able to research and determine.
