Winning Bid: $650
A Partial Set Of Sterling Flatware:
59 Pieces in the same set of Sterling 1924 Flatware.
This set consists of 12 sugar spoons, 6 soup spoons, 6 pickle forks, 10 dessert/salad forks, 8 dinner forks, 8 knives, 6 butter knives, and 3 various size serving spoons. Obviously a set of 6 can be found with this set with extras in certain pieces. All are marked with a Hallmark (see photo images) and “Sterling Pat. 1924”, the Knives are marked with a hallmark and “Sterling Handle Pat. 1924” Total weight of all pieces combined is 4lbs or 58.3 troy ounces less the extra weight for the non silver part of the knives. We have calculated the set at approximately 53.5 troy counces of silver. With the price of silver melt value around $28 per troy ounce and the “Sterling” value at about 87% of pure silver the melt value would be about $1330 for this entire lot, simply for the melt down value and not including the use value. This nice set is certainly worth more than the melt value as its in very nice condition and would be a nice addition to any household.
Unless otherwise noted we find no significant condition concerns except for normal age related wear for the age of these items.
