A. Joseph Kinkel, Life-Size Bronze Sculpture, Extra, Signed & Numbered:
Experience the electrifying presence of Extra Extra, a life-size bronze sculpture by A. Joseph Kinkel, respectfully capturing the urgency and spirit of a classic newsboy. The figure shouts the headlines -Empire State- while holding a stack of newspapers under one arm and another raised high, ready to deliver the news. Every fold of his clothing, every curl of his cap, even the texture of the printed letters are arrestingly rendered. A. Joseph Kinkel is known for honoring American labor and its unsung heroes. Raised in Scottsdale, Arizona, he grew up immersed in the world of industrial craftsmanship, his father and grandfather were sheet-metal workers, and learned the cadence of real lives forged by hard, honest work. He has captured this legacy in numerous public commissions, including the celebrated 11-foot bronze Generations (1985), which depicts the passing of trade skill from one generation to the next and has become an emblematic icon for the Sheet Metal Workers union. This life-size bronze embodies that same sense of moment-frozen endurance and vibrant storytelling. Cast in a limited edition (6/15), the piece carries Kinkel’s signature carved just above the edition number on its base, affirming its authenticity and rarity. Approximately 130 Lbs.
