2pc Japanese Satsuma Gosu Blue Ginger Jar with Lid:
The jar features intricate hand-painted polychrome and gilt decoration, including panels with floral motifs, birds, bamboo, and deer amid seasonal foliage. The designs are framed with geometric and foliate patterns, rendered in Gosu blue, iron red, green, and gold. The lid is decorated with chrysanthemum and scrolling foliage motifs in matching colors. The underside of the jar bears a blue circle-cross mark above gilt Japanese characters and a red seal mark.
