This incredibly rare and unusual pierced copper from the 18th century depicts a rearing horse with a beautifully chased pierced border. Bruce tells our cataloguers he has never seen before a pierced pictorial 18th century copper button. He has had pierced coppers and pictorial coppers but never in the combination. This example is truly finely hand crafted.
