Leading this auction is an original oil on canvas painting of Willie Mays by Ernie Barnes. This Ernie Barnes piece portrays Willie Mays watching a home run sail into the night sky while wearing his San Francisco Giants Road uniform. The imposing presence of Mays and his follow-through are rendered in Barnes' signature style. Mays' 1965 MVP season was the perfect topic for Barnes to paint as a former professional athlete.
