(Rockland, ME) The Farnsworth Art Museum is pleased to announce the reopening of its galleries, beginning on Thursday, June 25, to its members and to Rockland residents, and on the following day to the general public. The new museum hours will be Thursdays through Mondays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. To ensure the safest and most welcoming experience, and in keeping with the Maine Department of Economic & Community Development Stage 2 reopening guidelines, visitation will be through timed-ticket entry only. Timed tickets will be available for purchase on the Farnsworth’s website, www.farnsworthmuseum.org, and staff will be available at the Museum Street entrance to help visitors with online purchases. On that day, the museum will welcome back members and Rockland residents. Beginning on Friday, June 26, timed tickets will be available to the general public. “Our reopening is the result of weeks of behind-the-scenes work by a team of experts in the fields of health, security, and visitor services to guarantee the safety of your visit—and to ensure we meet or exceed every single guideline from both the CDC and the State of Maine,” commented Farnsworth Director Christopher J. Brownawell. “Your tremendous show of support during our closure has been inspiring. Our community is stronger than ever, and we are proud to be an anchor in Rockland, the art capital of Maine!” To ensure a safer and more welcoming experience for all, the Farnsworth has created a one-way path via directional arrows on the museum floors that will guide visitors through the galleries, while promoting enhanced physical distancing. In addition, the Farnsworth requires that all visitors agree to the following guidelines before their visit: Do not enter the building if they have a cough or fever.Wear face coverings at all times.Maintain a minimum six-foot distance while following the prescribed one-way path.Use hand sanitizer upon entering the museum and at stations throughout their visit.
